Forum/Town Hall: "A Cup of Joe with Steve and George"

Assemblyman Steve Otis and Senator George Latimer have announced that the next installment of 'A Cup of Joe with Steve and George' will be held in February 9th in Port Chester at the Port Chester Senior Center from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.

'In addition to attending community events and meetings in our district offices, these informal settings are a great way for residents to share their issues, problems and ideas,' said Assemblyman Otis.  'The information we gather is invaluable to us in representing the needs of Westchester residents.'

'Public events like these, are the best tool that we, as public officials, have to gather information about what specific concerns people have,' stated Senator George Latimer.  'When we hear from the people in forums like this, we can then advocate intelligently and effectively, knowing that we are carrying out the people's agenda that we heard first hand.  I plan on conducting these events regularly, in different sections of my district and on other specific state related issues, in concert with my legislative colleagues.'

This is the first time that Otis and Latimer have done this event together in Port Chester, having held similar sessions earlier in Mamaroneck and Rye.  Otis and Latimer both recently concluded the first month of their new roles and are continuing a series that Latimer had previously conducted in Port Chester for 8 years with former County Legislator Martin Rogowsky.

Otis and Latimer remind interested residents that no appointment is necessary.  Staffs from either or both offices will also be in attendance to take individual concerns or questions and facilitate any necessary follow up after the event.  Both offices will have informational literature available related to various state issues.

The Port Chester Senior Center is located at 220 Grace Church Street, around the back of the Village Hall complex.
