Aging in Place - Exploring your Options

I am looking forward to October 14th for a very informative session for our district’s seniors, “Aging in Place -- Exploring Your Options.”

The program is on Wednesday, October 14th, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the Leon J. Campo Salisbury Center (718 The Plain Road, Westbury).

There will be a series of presentations and featured speakers for this event, including:

Mary Ann Ragona (Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center): Since 1983, the Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center has been providing care and consultation, information and referral, guidance, resources and support for families coping with a diagnosis of Dementia and/or Alzheimer's Disease. Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, ADRC's Executive Director and CEO will discuss the many resources available to local families and differentiate between Social and Medical model daycare so that families will know which program will best suit the needs of their loved ones.

Andrea Barrientos (Medicare, Medicaid & Medigap Eligibility): Join Andrea for a presentation on how to make your Medicaid more affordable. This presentation will provide information on Medicare cost-saving programs, Medigaps, and how Medicare coordinates with Medicaid.

Kathleen Bagnall (CEO - Helping Hands Home Care): Kathy will discuss "Staying in your own home" -- Getting assistance, how and where to start. This will be a presentation from a licensed home care agency perspective.

Dawn Friedland-Perez (Wisdom of the Aged): Dawn will review the options available if a senior stays at home versus going into a facility, how to choose the right one, how to pay for it, and the tricks of the trade!
