NYS Senator Luis Sepúlveda Named Chair of the Senate Cities Committee

Albany, NY (January 12, 2022) – Senator Luis Sepúlveda released the following statement in response to his selection as Chair of the Senate Cities 1 Committee for the 2022 Legislative Session:

Senator Luis Sepúlveda said: “I am extremely honored to have been named Chair of the Senate Cities 1 Committee by Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins. I accept the selection with determination of work, humility, and joy while reaffirming more than ever my commitment to work for the residents of my district and of the entire State. I plan to make every effort I can to make its legislative efforts a productive improvement of life for all New Yorkers.” 

The New York State Senate Standing Committee on Cities 1 has legislative oversight over issues arising under General City Law, Second Class Cities Law, General Municipal Law, and Municipal Home Rule Law. The Committee considers issues particular to New York City, including the New York City Administrative Code, the NYC Charter, and issues arising under the General Business Law and Real Property Tax Law affecting NYC.

Today, Senator Luis Sepúlveda was also named a member of the following committees: Codes, Crime Victims, Crime and Correction, Judiciary, Mental Health, and Rules.
