Senator Mattera Joins With Salvation Army For School Supply Drive

Supply Drive

Senator Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) and The Salvation Army of East Northport are partnering for a back-to-school supply drive from now through Friday, August 18. Throughout the collection drive, Senator Mattera’s district office, which is located at 180 East Main Street in Smithtown, will serve as a drop off location for supplies.

“Making sure that every child has the best opportunity to succeed is vital to their success in school. That is why my office is proud to join with The Salvation Army to help make sure they have what they need. With prices increasing daily, the burden families in our region face are growing and it is imperative that we all join together to help those in need. I thank everyone who is able to donate for their willingness to take part. Together, we can help make sure that every student has a terrific school year,” stated Senator Mattera.

The Salvation Army, with the help of many volunteers, will fill backpacks for students and are looking for the following items:

  • composition marble notebooks
  • plastic pocket folders
  • highlighters
  • pencil sharpeners

  • supply boxes
