Senator Martinez to Host Grant Writing Workshop

Event will help local not-for-profit organizations learn about the state’s grant process

New York State Senator Monica R. Martinez will host a grant writing workshop on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. for local community organizations to assist them in securing funding for their programs and services.  This free training will be presented by Marcos Maldonado, a Principal at MTHC, Inc., which is also co-sponsoring the event.

The workshop will be held at the Brentwood Fire Department and provide valuable insights into the grant application process, specifically tailored to not-for-profit organizations in New York State. Key topics will include:

  • How to prequalify your not-for-profit organization within the New York State system.
  • Utilizing the updated New York State Vendor Portal (formerly Grants Gateway) to search for grant opportunities that align with your organization's mission and goals.

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized guidance on navigating a New York State Vendor Portal account.
