Bipartisanship in NYS Government: Parkinson's Disease Registry

I’ve always encouraged more bipartisanship in our state government. There are many times I have reached across the aisle to draft, support or co-sponsor legislation with Senate Democrats to help improve the lives of New Yorkers.

Recently, I joined Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal and The Michael J. Fox Foundation to urge passage of Senate bill S.4674, which I co-sponsor. It would create a Parkinson’s disease registry in New York State to identify high risk groups and aid researchers in the management and treatment of the disease – and hopefully one day, find a cure.

This bill passed the Senate on May 30.

Thank you to Barbara Zimmerman of Monroe County, a wife and caregiver who came to Albany to share her family’s experience.
