Senator Kaplan has partnered with New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and Landmark On Main Street for a very important community forum on New York's new Red Flag Law, and how we can all use it as a tool to protect our communities from gun violence.
The event will explain the steps that can be taken to petition a court to prevent individuals with dangerous histories from accessing guns and will feature a panel discussion on other efforts to keep our community safe from gun violence.
Panelists include Senator Anna M. Kaplan, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, Plainview-Old Bethpage Superintendent Dr. Lorna Lewis, NYAGV Executive Director Rebecca Fischer, Dr. Jeffrey Oestreicher, and Dr. Abid Khan.
Event will also feature remarks by Linda Beigel Schulman, mother of Scott Beigel, and Congressman Tom Suozzi
