Senator Sanders To Host Tree Planting Ceremony on Earth Day

Please join Senator James Sanders Jr. for an Earth Day Tree Planting Ceremony on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the playground outside of the Goldie Maple Academy, located at 3-65 Beach 56th Street, Far Rockaway, NY 11692.

We will be planting a Hackberry tree. This tree is expected to add beauty and shade to the park for the next 100 years or more!

Senator James Sanders Jr. was awarded the tree from the NYC Parks Department as part of its on-going community street tree and forestry initiative. 
 
This event will be sponsored by NYC Parks in partnership with NYS Assembly Member Khaleel Anderson, NYC Council; Majority Whip Selvena N. Brooks-Powers, Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation (RDRC), REMA4US and more.
 
During the ceremony, attendees will be able to:  
 

  • Meet local and State Legislators  
  • Be a part of changing the future   
  • Take part in a discussion about human change, not climate change as we take small steps to help the environment 
  • Hear about solutions that will improve the Earth 
  • Learn about new legislation being introduced to protect our planet
