Candlelight Vigil for 1st Murder Victim of 2017
State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village, Far Rockaway) will join the Guyanese community for a candlelight vigil to honor the life of Rocky Kalisaran, who was gunned down in South Ozone Park on Monday morning, the victim of an attempted robbery. His brother was also shot, but survived. Kalisaran's death marks the city’s first homicide of 2017.
The victim's sister, Vanny Kalisaran and family will be in attendance at the candlelight vigil. Senator Sanders calls upon people of good will to come out and stand with the family.
