State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village) will join Assembly Member David Weprin (D-Fresh Meadows) to host a free rain barrel giveaway on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Richmond Hill.
Rain barrels capture storm water from your roof and store it for future uses like watering lawns or gardens. Conserving water saves money, helps the environment and reduces the burden on the city's drinking water system during the summer’s hottest days.
To ensure you receive a rain barrel, reserve one in advance by calling Kevin JeanBaptiste at Senator Sanders' District Office at 718-523-3069 or via email atjean@nysenate.gov
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will provide detailed instructions at the giveaway on how to attach and use your rain barrel.
