Community Clergy Breakfast

Thinking of selling property of your church, or getting a mortgage on the property to fund your activities? With the increase in New York real estate values, more churches are considering ways to unlock these values, or are being solicited by brokers or developers to do so.

New York law requires that any church which wants to sell, mortgage, or lease (for five years or more) any of its real property (land or buildings)  must obtain approval from either the  Attorney General or the state  Supreme Court.

This breakfast presentation by the Chief of the New York Attorney General’s Charities Bureau, Jim Sheehan will review the opportunities and risks in church real estate, and the required steps and process for obtaining review and approval. He will also discuss other regulatory issues encountered by churches.

Seating is limited. RSVP NOW! Call Senator Sanders' District Office at 718-523-3069.
