Senator Serrano and the Roosevelt Island Residents Association (RIRA) are co-sponsoring a Hurricane Sandy relief event in Howard Beach. The devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy has left many communities in New York still in need of resources. Senator Joseph Addabbo, who represents Howard Beach, has identified an area hit particularly hard by the storm, with an ongoing need for hot meals.
Please consider joining us for the day or donating food that can be served as part of a hot meal. On the day of the event, volunteers will be driven from the Church of the Good Shepherd on Roosevelt Island to West Hamilton Beach Fire House in Howard Beach. Upon arriving in Howard Beach, volunteers will be joined by the Office of Senator Addabbo to distribute hot meals to members of the community.
To register as a volunteer or make a donation of food or supplies, please contact Justin T. Rush at 212-828-5829 or email jrush.nys@gmail.com.
