SUBJECT: Meeting of the Independent Redistricting Commission
PURPOSE: To conduct the business the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission
Pursuant to Article III Section 5-b and Section 94 of the Legislative Law, the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission has been constituted to determine the district lines for congressional and state legislative offices.
This meeting, scheduled by unanimous agreement among the Commissioners, shall be convened to discuss any current business before the Independent Redistricting Commission, including but not limited to discussion of the election of officers and appointees of the Commission. All business shall be conducted pursuant to the constitutional provision and laws applicable to the Commission.
The meeting of the Independent Redistricting Commission shall be open to the public and shall be streamed online and displayed by both houses of the Legislature. A recording of the meeting shall also be available to the public.
