LOCKPORT – Senator Robert Ortt (R,C,I – North Tonawanda) along with Assemblywoman Jane Corwin (R,C,I – Clarence) were on hand to help kick off hockey tournaments at Cornerstone CFCU Arena in the City of Lockport on Friday Jan. 16.
The City of Lockport’s governing body and Cornerstone CFCU Arena recognized the value of a first class skating arena. After 30 years, the rink revives tournaments & competitions while also breathing life back into the area.
The Lockport Express Junior “A” Hockey Team sponsored the “Showcase Tournament” Jan. 16-18. The arena features two NHL-sized ice rinks, a training center, a pro shop and seating for hundreds of spectators.
Cornerstone CFCU Arena is expected to bring in thousands of tourists every year for tournaments, which in turn will have a great economic impact locally. The New York State Senate and State Assembly are proud to have partnered with the city to help make this facility a reality.
