Senate Finance Committee Chair Liz Krueger and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the eighth in a series of 13 hearings on the 2019-20 Executive Budget on Tuesday, February 5th, at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.
During the Health / Medicaid Hearing, government officials and representatives of public health advocacy groups from across the state will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
These joint hearings will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.
Scheduled to provide testimony are New York State Department of Health Commissioner Doctor Howard Zucker, New York State Department of Financial Services Deputy Exectuive Superintendent of Health Troy Oechsner, and New York State Medicaid Inspector General Dennis Rosen.
Testimony also will be provided by Healthcare Association of New York State President Bea Grause and Greater New York Hospital Association Executive Vice President of Government Affairs David Rich; Community Health Care Association of New York State President and CEO Rose Dunham; and 1199 SEIU Policy Director Helen Schaub.
Others testifying include Medical Society of the State of New York Vice President and Chief Legislative Counsel Morris Auster; New York State Nurses Association Executive Director Jill Furillo; and New York State Health Facilities Association President and CEO Stephen Hanse, Executive Director Nancy Leveille and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee Mark Olsen.
