Senate Finance Committee Chair Catharine M. Young and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the 11th hearing, in a series of 13 hearings, on the 2018-2019 Executive Budget on Monday, February 12th, at 10:00 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.
During the Health / Medicaid Hearing, government officials and representatives of public health advocacy groups from across the state will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
These joint hearings will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.
Scheduled to provide testimony are New York State Health Department Commissioner Doctor Howard Zucker, New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Maria T. Vullo, and New York State Medicaid Inspector General Dennis Rosen.
Testimony also will be provided by Bea Grause, President, Healthcare Association of New York State; Kenneth Raske, President, Greater New York Hospital Association; Dr. Steven Safyer, MD, President and CEO, Montefiore Health System; and Helen Schaub, New York State Policy and Legislative Director, SEIU 1199.
Others testifying include Claudia Hammar, President, New York State Association of Health Care Providers; Joanne Cunningham, President, and Al Cardillo, Executive Vice President, Policy and Program Services, Home Care Association of New York State; and Stephen Hanse, President and CEO, and Nancy Leveilli, Executive Director for the Foundation for Quality Care, New York State Health Facilities Association.
