Joint Legislative Public Hearing on 2019-2020 Executive Budget Proposal: Topic Human Services

Senate Finance Committee Chair Liz Krueger and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the second hearing, in a series of 13 hearings, on the 2019-2020 Executive Budget on Thursday, January 24th, at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.
During the Human Services Hearing, government officials and representatives of human service advocacy groups from across the state will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
These joint hearings will continue through February 12th and will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.
Testimony is scheduled from New York State Office of Children and Family Services Acting Commissioner Sheila J. Poole, New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Services Commissioner Samuel D. Roberts, and New York State Office for the Aging Acting Director Greg Olsen.
Also testifying are representatives of the New York State Veterans Council: Legislative Coordinator Kirby Hannan, Legislative Coordinator for Disabled American Veterans Linda McKinnis, and Coordinator for Veterans Defense Program Arthur Cody.
Testimony is also expected from New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence Executive Director Connie Neal, UJA-Federation of New York Advocacy and Policy Advisor Ariel Savransky, and Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies (COFCCA) CEO Jim Purcell.
Others providing testimony include New York Immigration Coalition Director of Immigration Legal Policy Camille Mackler, Supportive Housing Network of New York Executive Director Laura Mascuch, Human Services Council Government and External Relations Manager David Ng, and Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy Policy Director Dede Hill.
