JEFFRIES -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend chapter 548 of the laws of 2004, amending the education law relating to certain tuition waivers for police officer students of the city university of New York, in relation to making permanent the provisions of such chapter THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 548 of the laws of 2004, amending the education law relating to certain tuition waivers for police officer students of the city university of New York, as amended by chapter 293 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as follows: S 2. This act shall take effect immediately [and shall expire and be deemed repealed July 1, 2010]. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD17087-01-0
