ERRIGO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation to the state insect THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 86 of the state law, as added by chapter 626 of the laws of 1989, is amended to read as follows: S 86. State insect. The lady bug ([coccinella novemnotata] COLEOMEGIL- LA MACULATA) shall be the official insect of the state of New York. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD02392-01-9
