LANCMAN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to the definition of serious offense THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 17 of section 265.00 of the penal law is amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: (C) ANY OFFENSE DEFINED IN SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE-A OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES LAW, WHERE THE VICTIM OF SUCH OFFENSE WAS A "VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE" AS DEFINED IN THAT SUBDIVI- SION. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10427-02-9
