Section 2: Amends subdivision 33 of section 16-102 of the energy law to update the definition of television (TV). Section 3: Adds new section 16-110 to the energy law to mandate new energy efficiency standards for televisions. The applied standards are tiered so that those manufactured on or after January 1, 2011, will be subject to the first round of energy efficiency standards, and those manufactured on or after January 1., 2013, will be subject to the second, more rigorous, round of energy efficiency standards. The simple formula for both determinations is stated. Section 4: Provides the effective date.
