S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 9467 I N A S S E M B L Y (PREFILED) January 6, 2010 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. LANCMAN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring inspections of motorcycles to include a sound level test THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision (c) of section 301 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new paragraph 4 to read as follows: (4) AN INSPECTION SHALL BE MADE WITH RESPECT TO THE SOUND LEVEL OF ALL MOTORCYCLES. SUCH INSPECTION SHALL INCLUDE A TEST OF THE EXHAUST SOUND LEVEL WITH A SOUND LEVEL METER. ALL MOTORCYCLES SHALL HAVE A SOUND LEVEL IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN SECTION THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX OF THIS TITLE IN ORDER TO PASS THE INSPECTION. S 2.
