Introduced  by  Sens. RANZENHOFER, O. JOHNSON, LARKIN, LAVALLE, PADAVAN,
  YOUNG -- read twice and  ordered  printed,  and  when  printed  to  be
  committed to the Committee on Transportation

AN  ACT  to  amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to providing
  certain penalties for certain  traffic  infractions  by  drivers  with
  certain under age license classifications

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 1800 of the vehicle and traffic law is  amended  by
adding a new subdivision (i) to read as follows:
  (I)  EVERY PERSON CONVICTED OF A VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF SUBDI-
VISION THREE OF SECTION FIVE HUNDRED ONE,  SUBDIVISION  TWO  OF  SECTION
FIVE  HUNDRED  ONE-B  OR  SECTION  FIVE  HUNDRED THREE-A OF THIS CHAPTER
SHALL, FOR A FIRST CONVICTION THEREOF  AND  IN  ADDITION  TO  ANY  OTHER
PENALTIES  PROVIDED  BY  LAW,  BE PUNISHED BY A SUSPENSION OF HIS OR HER
DRIVERS' LICENSE FOR A PERIOD OF NINETY DAYS.  FOR  A  CONVICTION  OF  A
SECOND  AND  ALL  SUBSEQUENT  VIOLATIONS  THEREOF AND IN ADDITION TO ANY
OTHER PENALTIES PROVIDED BY LAW, SUCH PERSON  SHALL  BE  PUNISHED  BY  A
SUSPENSION OF HIS OR HER DRIVERS' LICENSE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
