AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to  allowing  child
  care  providers  to  opt out of providing certain personal information
  online

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 390 of the social services law is amended by adding
a new subdivision 8-a to read as follows:
  8-A.  THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES SHALL NOT MAKE AVAIL-
ABLE TO THE PUBLIC ONLINE ANY CHILD CARE PROVIDER'S  STREET  ADDRESS  OR
MAP  SHOWING THE LOCATION OF SUCH PROVIDER'S HOME WITHOUT PROVIDING SUCH
CHILD CARE PROVIDER AN OPPORTUNITY TO OPT OUT OF THE AVAILABILITY ONLINE
OF THIS INFORMATION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law.

BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

FAMILY DAY CARE PROVIDER'S  HOME  STREET  ADDRESS  OR  MAP  SHOWING  THE
LOCATION  OF  SUCH  PROVIDER'S HOME WHERE SUCH PROVIDER HAS REQUESTED TO
OPT OUT OF THE ONLINE AVAILABILITY OF THIS INFORMATION. THE OFFICE SHALL
PROVIDE A WRITTEN FORM INFORMING A PROVIDER OF THEIR RIGHT TO OPT OUT OF
PROVIDING INFORMATION ONLINE,  AND  SHALL  ALSO  PERMIT  A  PROVIDER  TO
REQUEST TO OPT OUT THROUGH THE OFFICE'S WEBSITE.
  S  2.  This  act  shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
have become a law.
