BILL NUMBER: S3932 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the civil rights law, in relation to prohibiting certain professional sporting competitions or events in New York state PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : To prohibit discrimination by banning sporting events in New York that sanction anti-discrimination behavior. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : This act shall be known and may be cited as the "equal playing field act." The civil rights law is amended by adding a new section 79-n. No professional sporting competition, contest or event shall be permitted in New York state that is sponsored or sanctioned by an organization or sports governing body where in the year prior to such New York State competition, contest or event any other professional sporting competition, contest or event sponsored or sanctioned by such organization or sports governing body excluded players or teams based on race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, citizenship or national origin. Short title. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "equal playing field act". S 2. The civil rights law is amended by adding a new section 79-n to read as follows: S 79-N. PROFESSIONAL SPORTING COMPETITIONS OR EVENTS.
