THIELE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT in relation to exempting volunteer fire departments and companies from the payment of tolls THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the payment of tolls on any highway, bridge, tunnel or other toll road within this state shall not apply to a duly incorporated volunteer fire department or fire company while such vehicle is responding to an emer- gency or providing volunteer fire department or fire company services. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD03200-01-9
