BACALLES, FINCH, GIGLIO, OAKS -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to powers and duties of boards of education THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1709 of the education law is amended by adding a new subdivision 43 to read as follows: 43. TO CONTRACT WITH ANY CITY, TOWN OR VILLAGE WHERE ANY SCHOOL BUILD- ING IS LOCATED IN SUCH SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR INCREASED POLICE PROTECTION ON THE GROUNDS OF SUCH SCHOOL BUILDING. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD06911-01-9
