ALFANO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to conferring peace officer powers on immigration and naturalization service detention officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 2.15 of the criminal procedure law, as amended by chapter 522 of the laws of 1995, is amended to read as follows: 3. Immigration and Naturalization Service immigration inspectors, special agents, patrol officers, DETENTION OFFICERS, and deportation officers. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09662-01-9
