BILL NUMBER: S176 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the election law, in relation to certification of the vote PURPOSE : Requires county boards of elections to provide the state board of elections with votes cast for all nominations. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Amends §9-200, subdivision 3 to omit the last phrase, "in a district extended beyond the political unit for which the board is acting." This will allow the state board to receive all election results for judicial district delegates and state committee members throughout the state so that when the certification of delegates and alternates is made, the state board will have a listing of the election results for every delegate, alternate and committeeperson including those wholly contained within a county. The bill would require that county boards of elections provide a certified copy of the votes cast for ALL nominations for party positions INCLUDING those where the district is wholly contained within the county.
