BILL NUMBER: S2268 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to allowing the use of rifles for hunting in certain towns in the county of Chautauqua; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof PURPOSE : To allow the use of rifles for the hunting of big game in the Towns of Charlotte east of state route sixty, Gerry east of state route sixty, Villenova, Cherry Creek, Ellington, Poland, and Carroll in Chautauqua County. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 11-0907 of the Environmental Conservation Law is amended to allow the Towns of Charlotte east of state route sixty, Gerry east of state route sixty, Villenova, Cherry Creek, Ellington, Poland, and Carroll in Chautauqua County to hunt big game with the use of a rifle. YOUNG -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to allowing the use of rifles for hunting in certain towns in the county of Chautauqua; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new item (j) to read as follows: (J) THE FOLLOWING DEER, THE FIRST MONDAY PISTOL, SHOTGUN, TOWNS IN THE COUNTY AFTER NOVEMBER 15 MUZZLE LOADING OF CHAUTAUQUA: THROUGH FIRST TUESDAY FIREARM, CHARLOTTE EAST OF AFTER DECEMBER 7 RIFLE OR STATE ROUTE SIXTY, LONG BOW ONLY GERRY EAST OF STATE ROUTE SIXTY, VILLENOVA, CHERRY CREEK, ELLINGTON, POLAND AND CARROLL S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed one year after such effective date or on the same date as paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law expires pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended, whichever shall occur first.
