AN ACT to amend the general  business  law,  in  relation  to  requiring
  solicitations  by  mail  to  include  contact  addresses and telephone
  numbers for people who wish to be removed from such solicitation list

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
399-i to read as follows:
  S  399-I. SOLICITATIONS AND REMOVAL OF CONTACT ADDRESSES AND TELEPHONE
NUMBERS. ANY ORGANIZATION WHICH SOLICITS A CONTRIBUTION FROM ANY  PERSON
BY  MAIL, SHALL INCLUDE IN SUCH SOLICITATION A CONTACT ADDRESS AND TELE-
PHONE NUMBER TO BE REMOVED FROM SUCH MAILING LIST.
  S 2. This act shall take effect  immediately.  Effective  immediately,
the  addition,  amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation neces-
sary for the implementation of  this  act  on  its  effective  date  are
authorized  and  directed  to  be  made  and completed on or before such
effective date.
