CAHILL, COLTON, JOHNS, MAYER- SOHN, PHEFFER, ROBINSON, WEISENBERG, WRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the process- ing of accident reports THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new section 606 to read as follows: S 606. PROCESSING OF REQUIRED REPORTS. THE COMMISSIONER, WHEN PROCESS- ING REPORTS OF ACCIDENTS FILED PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE, SHALL GIVE PRIORITY TO REPORTS INVOLVING SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY (AS DEFINED IN SUBDIVISION TEN OF SECTION 10.00 OF THE PENAL LAW) OR DEATH. S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law; provided, however, that effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date is authorized and directed to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
