ABBATE, COOK, CRESPO, DESTITO, GOTTFRIED, MARKEY, McENENY, McKEVITT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Aging AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to creating the mature work- ers support program THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The elder law is amended by adding a new article 3 to read as follows: ARTICLE III MATURE WORKERS SUPPORT PROGRAM SECTION 301. MATURE WORKERS SUPPORT PROGRAM. S 301. MATURE WORKERS SUPPORT PROGRAM. 1. THE OFFICE SHALL, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, DEVELOP AND UPDATE ON AN ANNU- AL BASIS A GUIDE FOR BUSINESSES FOR HIRING, RETAINING AND RETRAINING MATURE WORKERS IN NEW YORK STATE THAT IS BASED ON THE MOST RECENT RECOM- MENDATIONS MADE BY THE MATURE WORKER TASK FORCE. 2. SUCH GUIDE SHALL BE PLACED ON THE WEBSITES OF THE OFFICE, DEPART- MENT OF LABOR, AND DEPARTMENT OF STATE. BUSINESSES THAT OBTAIN CERTIF- ICATION OR LICENSURE FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR OR DEPARTMENT OF STATE SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A LINK TO THIS GUIDE, OR A PAPER COPY UPON REQUEST, WHEN THEY APPLY FOR SUCH CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE. A NOMINAL FEE MAY BE CHARGED FOR PAPER COPIES PROVIDED TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT BUSINESS OWNERS. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
