AN  ACT to amend the election law, in relation to prohibiting candidates
  for election to a public  office  from  accepting  contributions  from
  charitable organizations

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 14-114 of the election law is amended by  adding  a
new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
  1-A.  NO CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION TO ANY PUBLIC OFFICE OR FOR NOMINATION
FOR ANY SUCH OFFICE, OR FOR ELECTION TO ANY PARTY POSITION, OR A  TREAS-
URER  OF  A  CAMPAIGN  COMMITTEE, SHALL ACCEPT ANY CONTRIBUTION FROM ANY
CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION OR ANY OTHER TAX EXEMPT NOT-FOR-PROFIT ENTITY.
  ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF  THIS  SUBDIVISION  SHALL  BE
SUBJECT  TO  A CIVIL FINE IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR EACH
OFFENSE COMMITTED.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring the board  of
  elections  to cause all contribution forms to contain certain language
  and prohibiting candidates  for  election  to  a  public  office  from
  accepting contributions from charitable organizations

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 3-102 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
new subdivision 9-B to read as follows:
  9-B.  CAUSE  ALL CONTRIBUTION FORMS TO CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGE:
"CONTRIBUTIONS FROM CHARITIES OR  501  (C)  CORPORATIONS  ARE  EXPRESSLY
FORBIDDEN."
  S  2.    Section 14-114 of the election law is amended by adding a new
subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
  1-A. NO CANDIDATE FOR ELECTION TO ANY PUBLIC OFFICE OR FOR  NOMINATION
