CALHOUN, GIGLIO, JORDAN, McDONOUGH, MOLINA- RO, MONTESANO, OAKS, RABBITT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to duration of renewal of license in certain cases THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 503 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: (C) WHENEVER THE COMMISSIONER HAS DETERMINED THAT THE PERIOD OF VALID- ITY FOR A DRIVER'S LICENSE SHALL BE MORE THAN TWO YEARS, A PERSON SEVEN- TY YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER SHALL BE PERMITTED TO APPLY FOR A LICENSE WITH A PERIOD OF VALIDITY OF TWO YEARS AND THE FEE FOR SUCH LICENSE SHALL BE BASED ON SUCH TWO YEAR DURATION. S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
