KAVANAGH, GALEF, REILLY, P. RIVERA, STEVENSON -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. GOTTFRIED, MAGEE, WEISENBERG -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to providing that a post- paid business reply envelope for the return to the board of elections of a voted absentee ballot be provided with each absentee ballot which is mailed to an applicant for such ballot THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 8-402 of the election law is amended by adding a new subdivision 8 to read as follows: 8. THE BOARD SHALL ENCLOSE WITH EACH ABSENTEE BALLOT MAILED TO AN APPLICANT A POSTPAID BUSINESS REPLY ENVELOPE FOR THE RETURN TO IT OF THE VOTED ABSENTEE BALLOT OF SUCH APPLICANT. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD07050-01-1
