GUNTHER -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to providing the definition of integrated pest management THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 33-0101 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 27-a to read as follows: 27-A. "INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT" MEANS A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO MANAGING PESTS THAT UTILIZES A DIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT OPTIONS TO MINI- MIZE HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC RISKS AND IMPACTS. THESE OPTIONS MAY INCLUDE BIOLOGICAL, CULTURAL, PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL TOOLS TO PREVENT PEST INFESTATIONS OR REDUCE THEM TO ACCEPTABLE LEVELS. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
