LAVINE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means AN ACT to forgive certain payroll taxes and interest thereon owed by the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contra- ry, any back payroll withholding tax owed by the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury, formerly known as the First Baptist Church of Westbury, as set forth in assessment number 1-003776275-7, which was incurred prior to the year 1990 and which has remained unpaid through reasons not ascribable to the negligence of the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury or its predecessor, shall be deemed forgiven and the state shall cancel and annul such tax together with any interest accruing thereon. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10875-01-1
