AN  ACT  to  amend  the  town  law, in relation to authorizing town code
  enforcement officers to enforce  provisions  of  the  agriculture  and
  markets law

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The town law is amended by adding a new section 43 to  read
as follows:
  S  43.  POWERS AND DUTIES OF TOWN CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO ENFORCE
PROVISIONS OF THE AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS  LAW.  TOWN  CODE  ENFORCEMENT
OFFICERS SHALL HAVE ALL THE POWER AND AUTHORITY CONFERRED UPON SUCH CODE
ENFORCEMENT  OFFICERS  BY  THE  GENERAL LAWS OF THE STATE AND SUCH ADDI-
TIONAL POWERS, NOT INCONSISTENT WITH LAW, AS  SHALL  BE  CONFERRED  UPON
THEM  BY  THE TOWN BOARD. THEY SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE GENERAL AUTHORITY
AND DIRECTION OF THE TOWN BOARD AND TO SUCH ORDERS  AND  REGULATIONS  AS
THE TOWN BOARD MAY PRESCRIBE, NOT INCONSISTENT WITH LAW.  SUCH TOWN CODE
ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO INVESTIGATE AND ENFORCE
PROVISIONS OF THE AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS LAW.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
