IN ASSEMBLY -- Introduced by M. of A. THIELE, LOSQUADRO -- read once and
  referred to the Committee on Education

AN  ACT to amend the education law, in relation to approval of contracts
  with superintendents of schools

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.   Section 1711 of the education law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
  3-A. ANY CONTRACT, AMENDMENT THERETO, CONTRACT EXTENSION, OR AGREEMENT
OF ANY KIND WITH A SUPERINTENDENT FOR SALARY, COMPENSATION  OR  BENEFITS
ENTERED  INTO  DURING  THE  PERIOD  BETWEEN  THE  ANNUAL  MEETING OF THE
DISTRICT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SHALL BE APPROVED  BY
A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF SUCH BOARD.
  S  2.  Section  2507  of  the education law is amended by adding a new

DISTRICT AND THE SUBSEQUENT ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SHALL BE APPROVED  BY
A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF SUCH BOARD.
  S  3.  This  act  shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
have become a law.
