BILL NUMBER:S1263 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seventy-four in relation to requiring building services registration form RR-3(i), found in 9 NYCRR 2528.2, be included in the copy of the renewal lease provided to the tenant PURPOSE: To include the building services registration form for tenants signing a new or renewal lease in the forms package. The purpose of adding this form is to furnish tenants with documentation of the building wide services that the building owner has agreed to provide to all tenants. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation amends subdivision c of section 10 of section 4 of chapter 576 of the laws of 1974. JUSTIFICATION: At the time a tenant signs a new or renewal lease, they are currently furnished with a copy of the fully executed new or renewal lease containing the signatures of the tenant and the beginning and end dates of the terms of the lease within 30 days of signing. ADDABBO, PARKER, PERALTA, SQUADRON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction and Community Development AN ACT to amend the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seven- ty-four in relation to requiring building services registration form RR-3(i), found in 9 NYCRR 2528.2, be included in the copy of the renewal lease provided to the tenant THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision c of section 10 of section 4 of chapter 576 of the laws of 1974, constituting the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seventy-four, as added by chapter 439 of the laws of 1984, is amended to read as follows: c. Each owner of premises subject to this act AND OWNERS OF PREMISES IN CITIES HAVING A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE shall furnish to each tenant signing a new or renewal lease, a copy of the fully executed new or renewal lease bearing the signatures of owner and tenant [and], the beginning and ending dates of the lease term AND BUILDING SERVICES REGISTRATION FORM RR-3(I) FOUND IN 9 NYCRR 2528.2, within thirty days from the owner's receipt of the new or renewal lease signed by the tenant. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however that the amendments to subdivision c of section 10 of the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seventy-four made by section one of this act shall expire on the same date as such act expires and shall not affect the expiration of such act as provided in section 17 of chapter 576 of the laws of 1974, as amended.
