BILL NUMBER:S3573 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the penal law, in relation to large capacity ammunition feeding devices PURPOSE: Makes all large capacity ammunition feeding devices, regardless of date of manufacture, subject to the provisions of the penal law. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Subdivision 23 of section 265.00 of the penal law as added by chapter 189 of the laws of 2000, is amended to read as follows: 23. "Large capacity ammunition feeding device" means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device, [manufactured after September thirteenth, nineteen hundred ninety-four], that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than ten rounds of ammunition; provided, however, that such term does not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rim-fire ammunition. § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next

ADAMS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to large capacity ammunition feeding devices THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 23 of section 265.00 of the penal law, as added by chapter 189 of the laws of 2000, is amended to read as follows: 23. "Large capacity ammunition feeding device" means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device[, manufactured after September thir- teenth, nineteen hundred ninety-four], that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than ten rounds of ammunition; provided, however, that such term does not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.
