RYAN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to providing that persons participating in a non-commercial fishing class or clinic sponsored by a school or university are exempt from fishing license requirements THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 11-0707 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 10 to read as follows: 10. PERSONS PARTICIPATING IN A NON-COMMERCIAL FISHING CLASS OR CLINIC SPONSORED BY A SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY MAY TAKE FISH AND FROGS AS IF THEY HELD FISHING LICENSES EXCEPT THAT THEY MAY NOT TAKE BAIT FISH BY NET OR TRAP. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD03287-01-3
