ROSENTHAL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to increasing fines for selling and manufacturing fur-bearing articles of clothing THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 399-aaa of the general business law, as added by chapter 611 of the laws of 2007, is amended to read as follows: 4. A violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not more than [five] FIFTEEN hundred dollars for the first violation and not more than [one] THREE thousand dollars for each subsequent violation. S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
