NOLAN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to notice of the termi- nation of special therapy services by school districts THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 3036 to read as follows: S 3036. SPECIAL THERAPY SERVICES; NOTICE OF TERMINATION. THE SUPER- INTENDENT OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT WHICH PROVIDES PHYSICAL THERAPY, OCCUPA- TIONAL THERAPY, OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL THERAPY SERVICES TO ANY STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS SHALL, NOT LESS THAN SIXTY DAYS PRIOR TO THE TERMI- NATION OF ANY SUCH SERVICES: 1. NOTIFY, IN WRITING, THE PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIAN OF EACH STUDENT RECEIVING SUCH SERVICES THAT SUCH SERVICES WILL BE TERMINATED; AND 2. PLACE ON THE INTERNET WEBSITE FOR SUCH SCHOOL DISTRICT, A NOTICE THAT SUCH SERVICES WILL BE TERMINATED. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
