BILL NUMBER:S4935 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to waiving pavilion rental fees for recognized veterans' organizations PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Waives the pavilion rental fees for recognized veterans' organizations at NY State Parks SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 permits any recognized veterans' organization to rent any pavilion at state parks, other state recreational facilities and historic sites, without the payment of any fees or charges. Section 2 contains the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: We have no greater obligation than to honor and thank our veterans for their service to our nation, whether in times of peace or in times of war. Given the personal sacrifices our veterans have made, waiving the rental fee for Veteran's organization to utilize state parks pavilions is small gesture for the work they do every day protecting and securing our freedoms.
