TENNEY, McDONOUGH, LOSQUADRO -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. BARCLAY, CERETTO, CROUCH, PALMESANO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to hours for voting THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The opening paragraph of subdivision 2 of section 8-100 of the election law is designated paragraph (a) and a new paragraph (b) is added to read as follows: (B) NOTWITHSTANDING PARAGRAPH (A) OF THIS SUBDIVISION, IF A SPECIAL ELECTION IS HELD ON THE SAME DATE AS A PRIMARY ELECTION, ANY POLL LOCATED WITHIN THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION SHALL BE OPEN FROM SIX O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING UNTIL NINE O'CLOCK AT NIGHT FOR ALL VOTING, REGARDLESS IF IT IS FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION OR THE SPECIAL ELECTION. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD03368-01-3
