S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 3436 2013-2014 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y January 25, 2013 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. TITONE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring that in all new commercial development streets and abutting streets must be widened to the maximum allowable width THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 28-108.4 to read as follows: S 28-108.4 STREET WIDTH FOR NEW COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION. DEVELOPERS OF NEW COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO CONSTRUCT ALL NEW STREETS WITHIN THE PROJECT AND WIDEN ALL EXISTING STREETS ABUT- TING THE PROJECT TO THE MAXIMUM LEGAL WIDTH FOR SUCH STREETS. NO WAIVER OF SUCH REQUIREMENT SHALL BE GRANTED. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
