ABBATE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to granting police officer status to members of the uniformed correction force of the New York city department of correction THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 34 of section 1.20 of the criminal procedure law is amended by adding a new paragraph (w) to read as follows: (W) THE MEMBERS OF THE UNIFORMED CORRECTION FORCE OF THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION. S 2. Subdivision 25 of section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law, as amended by section 70 of subpart B of part C of chapter 62 of the laws of 2011, is amended to read as follows: 25. Officials, as designated by the commissioner of the department of corrections and community supervision pursuant to rules of the depart- ment, and correction officers of any state correctional facility or of any penal correctional institution EXCEPT FOR CORRECTION OFFICERS OF THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION. S 3. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD07374-01-3
