AN ACT to amend chapter 413 of the laws of 2012, relating to the  aboli-
  tion  of  the offices of fire commissioners by the town of Deposit, in
  relation to making technical changes thereto

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Section 2 of chapter 413 of the laws of 2012 is amended to
read as follows:
  S 2. Notwithstanding the defects described in section one of this act,
the town board of the town of Deposit is hereby authorized  to  initiate
proceedings  pursuant  to  article  17-A of the general municipal law to
dissolve the [offices of fire commissioners] DEPOSIT FIRE DISTRICT as if
the town board were the governing body of the [offices of  fire  commis-
sioners] DEPOSIT FIRE DISTRICT.
  S  2.  This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that
the amendment to section 2 of chapter 413 of the laws of  2012  made  by
section  one of this act shall not affect the repeal of such section and
shall expire and be deemed repealed therewith.
